How do I set up and manage sender addresses with communication profiles in Student Management Cloud?
In Oracle Student Management Cloud, communication profiles allow you to define and centrally manage sender information such as the From, Reply to, and Display addresses using the Communication Profile setup interface. This ensures accuracy, consistency, and security in your outbound communications.
Key benefits of using communication profiles:
- Consistency and control. Communication profiles standardize and manage sender address information across all communications. This reduces the risk of inconsistencies and errors that may occur with manual maintenance or lookup-based methods.
- Safeguards against disruption. When6 a communication profile is assigned to an active (published) communication configuration, it can’t be deleted or edited. This safeguard prevents accidental changes or deletions that could disrupt ongoing communications.
- Simplified management. The Communication Profile setup interface allows administrators to easily create and manage profiles in a single location. This replaces the need to manage sender addresses in multiple areas of the application.
- Safe updates. If changes are required to sender information, you should create a new communication profile rather than editing an existing one in use by published communications. This preserves the integrity of your current communication history and avoids delivery issues.
Here’s how you create a communication profile:
- From Student Central, click Search and search for Communication Profiles.
- Click Create Communication Profile.
- Provide the required details:
- Profile Name: A unique name for the profile.
- Code: A unique identifier for the profile.
- Type: The communication channel (for example, Email).
- Profile Address: The sender’s address (for example, an email address).
- Profile Display Name: The name displayed to recipients (for example, Admissions Office).
- Reply to Address: The address where replies will be sent (for example, noreply@university.edu).
- Reply to Display Name: The display name for the reply to address.
- Click Save to complete setup.

The saved communication profile will be available for selection when configuring communication templates or workflows. Assign appropriate profiles while creating or editing communication templates to ensure all outgoing messages use standardized sender details.
