How do I enable the BU Name field for multiple business units in a subscription?

You can enable the BU Name field in a subscription with multiple business units by setting up the Assign Business Unit Business Function for all the business units.

Here are the steps to set up the Assign Business Unit Business Function:

  1. Ensure that you set the profile option HZ_ENABLE_MULTIPLE_BU_CRM to yes. You can find this profile option in the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.
  2. Ensure that the user has access to a resource organization in which multiple business units can be added.
    1. Create a contract organization - Navigate to Setup & Maintenance > Manage Internal Resource Organizations > Create a new Organization. Add your organization to Sales Usage.
    2. Add Business Units to the Organization - Navigate to the Resource Directory > View Organizations > Search for your new organization > Business Unit tab
    3. Add the organization to the user - Navigate to Setup & Maintenance > Manage Users, search and select the user. Go to Resource Information and set the organization.

    The user now has access to all the business units added to the resource oganization assigned to them.

  3. Set the Assign Business Unit Business Function as the setup user.
    1. Go to your implementation project for Subscription Management.
    2. Search for the task Assign Business Unit Business Function.
    3. Select your business unit.
    4. Ensure that the Sales checkbox is selected for this business unit to be used in Subscription Management.
    5. Repeat steps a. to d. for all business units.
