What do I need to know about streamlined subscription attributes?

Some subscription attributes are read-only based on specific conditions. In addition, updates to certain records are restricted when they're in specific states and statuses. The streamlined attributes ensure that data integrity across Q2R applications is upheld and improves application performance.

Here are some benefits and rationale for streamlined subscription attributes, emphasizing the need-to-know information for our customer's information technology resources:

  • Data Integrity: By limiting data modifications, we uphold the accuracy and consistency of our records.
  • Performance Optimization: The implementation of read-only attributes reduces resource-intensive operations, resulting in improved application performance.
  • Regulatory Alignment: Previously we allowed updates on subscriptions which resulted in the associated revenue contract and performance obligations being out of sync. This resulted in compliance issues. By restricting updates, we ensure the revenue contract and revenue obligations don't get out of sync.
  • Streamlined Workflows: Consistent data in restricted states minimizes errors, streamlining workflows and reducing the need for manual intervention.
  • Scalability: The data model's scalability is enhanced, since restrictions prevent anomalies that can arise from incorrect data modifications, allowing the systems to handle growing data volumes effectively.
