Flexible Revenue Milestone Adjustments

Flexible Revenue Milestone Adjustments allow you to change revenue recognition percentages for milestones until the milestone is completed. This capability provides flexibility when managing revenue allocation for subscription products where the project scope or delivery milestones might evolve over time.

You can update the revenue recognition percentage for milestones at any time before the milestone completion date is set. After the milestone is completed, the milestone percentages are automatically locked to preserve data integrity and maintain audit compliance.

Adjust Revenue Recognition Percentages

You can correct or adjust the revenue recognition percentage associated with a milestone until the milestone is completed. This lets you refine revenue allocation as project conditions change.

This capability helps you:

  • Correct or adjust the revenue recognition percentage for milestones before completion.

  • Track revenue more accurately and align milestone allocations with revenue forecasts.

  • Change milestone percentages when the project scope evolves.

Milestone Validation and Behavior

When working with revenue milestones, the system enforces several validations and behaviors.

  • You can’t delete a revenue milestone when the subscription is in Active status. If required, you can set the milestone percentage to 0 before entering the completion date.

  • When you add one or more new revenue milestones, the system validates that the total percentage across all milestones equals 100.

  • Even if the revenue line hasn’t been interfaced to Revenue Management Cloud, it’s treated as interfaced once the completion date is saved.
