Guidelines for Setting Up Analysis Sets for Feature-Based Forecasting

This topic discusses the creation of analysis sets for use in feature-based forecasting.

On the Demand tab of the Plan Options page for a demand plan, when you select a feature-based forecasting profile, you must also select an analysis set for use with the forecasting profile. This analysis set contains the member for the new product for which the feature-based forecast is generated.

These are the guidelines for creating an analysis set for use in feature-based forecasting:

In the Selector Tool - Create Analysis Set dialog box, save the members as a list.
In Include, select only Members.
On the Measures tab, select any stored measure that's defined at the Item level or a demand history measure. The granularity of the selected measure should correspond to the combinations for the new product.

The selected measure isn't used, and you're making a selection only to enable the Members tab.
On the Members tab, select the member for the new product.

Optionally, using the lifecycle phase main attribute for items, you can create segments that contain existing products and the new product. Then, you can create an analysis set for the segment that contains the new product.
