Overview of the Aggregate Build Plan in Sales and Operations Planning

The Aggregate Build Plan table in Sales and Operations Planning Cloud enables you to simultaneously view resource, material, and supplier requirements in the context of demand for an assembly.

This report leverages the bill of resources used in aggregate supply planning that defines which component items and resources are used in an assembly item. Use Aggregate Build Plan to focus on the components, resources, and measures that are important to you. For example, you can analyze a material plan for a critical component and its available supplier capacity.

The Aggregate Build Plan also gives you visibility into the upstream manufacturing of subassemblies and their requirements for components and resources. You can quickly identify and reduce supply and resource bottlenecks as well as understand the imbalance in resource capacity and component supply.

When you open the Aggregate Build Plan table for the first time, you will see an empty plan layout. You can configure the layout of the Aggregate Build Plan table to show only the components, resources, and measures that you want to see. You can also define criteria at a product category level for aggregate analysis across shared components and resources.

After selecting the criteria that you want, the Aggregate Build Plan displays the end items, components, and resources that you identified in the criteria. You can expand the root node to see the measures that you included in the layout as well as the selected time level used for the columns. Whether or not you can edit a value in a cell is based on if the measure is editable or not. If the measure is editable, then you can edit the measure in the Aggregate Build Plan.

Use the Drill to action to see additional information related to a table cell. The context of the cell is passed into the resulting table or graph. You can also drill into the Aggregate Build Plan, which is currently supported only for assembly items.
