Secure Access to Problem Reports and Corrective Actions

To secure a problem report or corrective action from unauthorized access, you can click the Security tab in a problem report or corrective action and add the users who should have access to it.

Note:
  • Users in the supplier organization can only view and submit problem reports or corrective actions.
  • You can also secure extensible flexfields appearing on problem reports and corrective actions. For more information, see the topic Secure Extensible Flexfields for Change Types.

Here are some things you must know about a new problem report or corrective action:

  • All users can access problem reports or corrective actions, until you restrict access.

  • If you add a new user or group to restrict access, the creator and assignee are added automatically.

  • To remove the creator and assignee, use the Delete All option.

To enable users to view or approve a problem report or corrective action, an administrator must also provide the necessary privileges.

When you search for a problem report or corrective action using any criteria, the search results show only the problem report or corrective action that you're allowed to view.

Access to Problem Reports and Corrective Actions

Users can view problem reports and corrective actions from the Quality Management work area or in Supplier Portal by adding the following from the Security Console.

Note: Assigning predefined roles and privileges as is to users may impact subscription usage, so it’s recommended that you create your own roles with the privileges your users actually need to perform their tasks. See the related links for more details.

Access the item change for table EGO_ENGINEERING_CHANGES_B for the item changes they've access to.

With the View Problem Reports and View Corrective Actions privileges, you can provide access to view problem reports and corrective actions in all statuses including the draft status. To gain view or manage access to problem reports and corrective actions, along with the View or Manage privilege you must have the Monitor Product Management Workflow Objects privilege.

To enable access to the item change for suppliers, you must also assign a custom data policy with the following predefined condition - Access the item change for table EGO_ENGINEERING_CHANGES_B for the item changes they created.
