Purge a Physical Inventory

Use the Purge Physical Inventory process to remove physical inventory records from the database. You can choose to remove the complete physical inventory or only the physical inventory tags.

You can purge physical inventory from the Manage Physical Inventories page or the Scheduled Processes work area.

Purge from Manage Physical Inventories Page

To purge cycle counts from the Manage Physical Inventories page:

  1. Select Manage Physical Inventories from the Counts task list in the Inventory Management work area.

  2. Search for and select a physical inventory.

  3. Select Purge Physical Inventory from the Actions menu.

  4. In the Purge Physical Inventory dialog box, determine the purge scope and decide whether to purge error records.

    When you select All for the Purge Scope option, the process deletes all data for the physical inventory from the database. If you select Tags Only, only the physical inventory tags are deleted.

    If you select Yes for the Purge Error Records field, the process deletes all pending transactions for physical inventory, along with corresponding tags and adjustments. If you select No, only physical inventory tags and adjustments are deleted after all pending transactions are processed.

  5. Click Ok.

Purge from Scheduled Processes Work Area

To purge cycle counts from the Scheduled Processes work area:

  1. From the Navigator, select Tools > Scheduled Processes.

  2. Click the Schedule New Process button.

  3. Search for and select the Purge Physical Inventory process.

  4. Enter your organization and physical inventory name.

  5. Determine whether to purge the physical inventory setup.

  6. Select a value for the Purge Error Records field:

    • Yes: Purge pending physical inventory transactions along with corresponding tags and adjustments.

    • No: Purge only tags and adjustments after all pending transactions are processed. This is the default value.

  7. Click Submit.

Note: If you select Yes for Purge Error Records and choose No for the Purge Physical Inventory Setup field, then the application deletes only the physical inventories that have error records in pending transactions, along with their corresponding tags and adjustments.If you select Yes for the Purge Physical Inventory Setup parameter, the application purges the setup data associated with the physical inventory.
