Inspection Plans
An inspection plan contains inspection elements that represent the specific data that you want to collect and report on. It also contains information about when and how often you collect that data.
The following table lists the five types of inspection plans and their use:
Plan Type |
Used to Collect Data and Report On |
---|---|
Receiving |
Items received at the warehouse |
Resource |
Equipment or machinery in Shop Floor |
Inventory |
Items in your inventory |
Work in Process |
Work order execution |
Asset | Assets, asset groups; items, and item categories |
While creating an inspection plan, you must specify the plan details, specifications, and criteria.
You can specify target values and limits for inspection plan characteristics. If the actual results entered aren't within the limits, a quality issue is created based on the action rule that you’ve defined.
