Can I set up a default reason for a change order?

Yes. You can set up a default reason for a change type. The reason is inherited by change orders created from the change type. Use the Reason field in the Manage Change Order Types task.

To access the task, in the Setup and Maintenance work area go to the following:

  • Offering: Product Management

  • Functional Area: Change Orders

  • Task: Manage Change Order Types

Note:
  • You can change the default reason in the Reason Code field on the change order.

  • When you use the Save As action to create a new change order (from an existing one), the value of Reason Code field is copied from the existing change order and not from the default value defined in the change type.
