Create Supplier Products

As a supplier, you can manage your own products from Product Hub Portal.

You can create, edit, and bulk upload the products, as well as monitor the status of the products. When you upload the products, your products are stored in a staging area.

While creating and editing the products, you can provide data for the various product attributes, as well as upload product specific attachments.

To create a product:

  1. In the Supplier Portal work area, select the Manage Products task from the task list.

  2. Select Actions > > > Create.

  3. Select the category for the product that you want to create.

  4. You must provide values for these required fields:

    • Category

    • Product

    • Description

    • Primary Unit of Measure

    For multi-row extensible flexfield rows, you must provide a value for the unique row identifier attributes.

    Other fields may be required. You can save a product without providing values for all of them, including required extensible flexfields.

    Note: If you're creating products using product uploads, then you must provide values for all required extensible flexfields.
  5. Optionally, attach attachments to the product.

  6. Optionally, associate the supplier organizations to the product.

  7. Click Save. The Status field displays the value DRAFT.

  8. After entering the values for all the required attributes, click Submit to submit the product.

Consider these points when you create a product:

  • A saved product remains in a Draft status until you submit it. After you submit the product, the Product Data Steward can review the submitted product before importing it into Product Hub.

  • Once the Product Data Steward import the products into Product Hub, an item is automatically created in Product Hub and a Spoke Item Relationship is created for the item. The spoke system is set to Supplier's Spoke System and the spoke item number is set as the product, as uploaded by the supplier in Product Hub Portal.

  • A Product Data Steward can also import the product as a Supplier Item Relationship or MPN Relationship by asking the suppliers to upload their products in Product Hub Portal using an import map. The import map must have the mappings for these Trading Partner Item Relationships.

  • As a supplier, you can also specify the MPN Relationship on the Create Product page while creating a product in Product Hub Portal.

Add Supplier Organization Associations

Suppliers can associate their organization addresses to products and specify the corresponding extensible flexfield values. They can search for their addresses using Global Location Numbers if they're set up for the addresses. Product Data Stewards can then optionally review the supplier provided data before importing it in Oracle Product Hub as supplier organization associations.

To add the supplier organization associations:

  1. On the Create Product or Edit Product pages, click the Supplier Organization Associations tab. The Supplier Organization Associations page is displayed.

  2. Search and select the required address.

  3. Specify the purchase price, customer price, and the margin.

  4. Submit the changes.

Note: The Supplier Organization Associations tab is displayed only if the Product Data Steward has added the supplier-level extensive flexfield attribute groups to the Product Hub Portal sub-tab of the item class associated to the category of the product being created or edited.

Suppliers can delete an address only if the product is in the Draft status. Once the product is submitted, the delete action is disabled and suppliers can't delete the address. To delete supplier organization associations of non-draft status products, you can use Supplier Products REST.
