Item Asset Management Specifications

The following are the Item Asset Management specification attributes and their possible values. You set these attributes when you define or update items.

Attribute Name	Description
Asset Class	Indicates the asset class an item belongs to.
Create Fixed Asset	Indicate when the item is asset capitalized. Options are post receipt of the item or at invoice.
Default Repair Transaction Code	Set the default repair transaction codes that are used in warranty coverages, warranty contracts, work order resources, and material transactions of an asset item as a part of supplier warranty. Before setting this code, define the repair transaction codes of type Transaction Code (TXN_CODE) in the Manage Condition Event Codes task in the Setup and Maintenance work area.
Enable Asset Tracking	Indicate whether the item is tracked as an asset in installed base.
Enable Asset Maintenance	Indicate whether asset maintenance is enabled for an item.
Enable Genealogy Tracking	Indicate that the item is enabled for genealogy tracking. Product genealogy provides complete transaction tracking from raw materials through production and shipment for a product instance. It also provides the structure history of a product instance for source and where-used tracing.
