Use Latest Work Definitions for Cost Rollup

When defining a cost scenario, you can specify whether the latest or active work definitions must be used to calculate the costs by the Roll up Costs process.

In a cost scenario, you can select the Use Latest Work Definitions options to indicate that the Roll up Costs process must consider the current active work definition from Manufacturing to calculate the costs. In the case of configured items, the process uses the latest configuration options based on the active work definition of the base models.

If this option isn't selected, the Roll up Costs process uses the work definition structure used to calculate the current standard cost of the regular items. For configured items, the process uses the configuration options used to calculate the current standard cost.

In the case of a cost scenario for regular items, this option is applicable only if the cost rollup scope is set to All Item, Selected Items, or Selected Item Categories. In the case of a cost scenario for configured items, this option is applicable only if the cost rollup scope is set to Selected Items, Selected Item Categories, or Where Used.

The table here lists the impact of selecting or not selecting this option in the case of cost scenarios for configured items.
