Dynamically Link a CTO Item to Its BOM Structure

This topic provides the high-level procedure for how you can dynamically link a configure-to-order (CTO) item with its bill of materials (BOM) structure using a two-pane page layout.

  1. Create a summary table that lists only your CTO items and a detail table that lists the CTO items along with their option classes and options.
  2. Create a page layout with two panes.
    You can use the Two Pane, Horizontal Split or Two Pane, Vertical Split view.
  3. In the left or top pane, open the summary table.
  4. In the right or bottom pane, open the detail table.
  5. For the summary table, click Actions > Manage Links.
    The Manage Links dialog box opens.
  6. On the To Table, Graph, or Page Layout tab, create a link to the detail table.
    Ensure that you select the Pass highlighted selections and selected members option.
  7. Save your work.

Results:

When you select a CTO item in the summary table, the CTO item along with its option classes and options is displayed in the detail table. When you change your selection in the summary table, the information displayed by the detail table is refreshed.
