How Hybrid Time Hierarchies Are Created for Calendar Combinations

Hybrid time hierarchies are created for a demand plan at an aggregate time level on the basis of the calendars that you select.

A manufacturing calendar hierarchy has these time levels (highest to lowest):

  • Period
  • Week
  • Day

A Gregorian calendar hierarchy has these time levels (highest to lowest):

  • Year
  • Quarter
  • Month
  • Day

A fiscal calendar hierarchy has these time levels (highest to lowest):

  • Year
  • Quarter
  • Month
  • Day

Only the Day level is common to these time hierarchies.

In these time hierarchies, you can aggregate your data from a day to a week or period or from a day to a month, quarter, or year. Your choices are restricted by the time hierarchy you selected as the planning calendar for your plan.

When you run the Create Hybrid Time Hierarchies scheduled process, an additional, common level called the Hybrid time level is created above the Day level in the manufacturing calendar, Gregorian calendar, and fiscal calendar hierarchies. When you select a hybrid time hierarchy as the planning calendar, you can aggregate your data to weeks, months, quarters, years, or periods within the same plan.

Hybrid Time Hierarchies for Manufacturing and Gregorian Calendars

When you run the Create Hybrid Time Hierarchies scheduled process for a combination of a manufacturing calendar and Gregorian calendar, these hybrid time hierarchies are created:

  • Manufacturing:Gregorian:Hybrid: This hierarchy has the Period level, Week level, Hybrid time level, and Day level (highest to lowest). The hierarchy is a manufacturing hybrid hierarchy.
  • Gregorian:Manufacturing:Hybrid: This hierarchy has the Year level, Quarter level, Month level, Hybrid time level, and Day level (highest to lowest). The hierarchy is a Gregorian hybrid hierarchy.

Both hybrid time hierarchies share the Hybrid time level and Day level.

After you add these hybrid time hierarchies to your plan, you can aggregate data to weeks, months, quarters, years, or periods within the same plan.

Hybrid Time Hierarchies for Manufacturing and Fiscal Calendars

When you run the Create Hybrid Time Hierarchies scheduled process for a combination of a manufacturing calendar and fiscal calendar, these hybrid time hierarchies are created:

  • Manufacturing:Fiscal:Hybrid: This hierarchy has the Period level, Week level, Hybrid time level, and Day level (highest to lowest). The hierarchy is a manufacturing hybrid hierarchy.
  • Fiscal:Manufacturing:Hybrid: This hierarchy has the Year level, Quarter level, Month level, Hybrid time level, and Day level (highest to lowest). The hierarchy is a fiscal hybrid hierarchy.

Both hybrid time hierarchies share the Hybrid time level and Day level.

After you add these hybrid time hierarchies to your plan, you can aggregate data to weeks, months, quarters, years, or periods within the same plan.

Hybrid Time Hierarchies for Manufacturing, Gregorian, and Fiscal Calendars

When you run the Create Hybrid Time Hierarchies scheduled process for a combination of a manufacturing calendar, Gregorian calendar, and fiscal calendar, these hybrid time hierarchies are created:

  • Manufacturing:Gregorian:Fiscal:Hybrid: This hierarchy has the Period level, Week level, Hybrid time level, and Day level (highest to lowest). The hybrid is a manufacturing hybrid hierarchy.
  • Gregorian:Manufacturing:Fiscal:Hybrid: This hierarchy has the Year level, Quarter level, Month level, Hybrid time level, and Day level (highest to lowest). The hierarchy is a Gregorian hybrid hierarchy.
  • Fiscal:Gregorian:Manufacturing:Hybrid: This hierarchy has the Year level, Quarter level, Month level, Hybrid time level, and Day level (highest to lowest). The hierarchy is a fiscal hybrid hierarchy.

All hybrid time hierarchies share the Hybrid time level and Day level.

After you add these hybrid time hierarchies to your plan, you can aggregate data to weeks, months, quarters, years, or periods within the same plan.

Naming Convention for Hybrid Time Hierarchies

The following is the naming convention for hybrid time hierarchies:

  • Manufacturing Hybrid Hierarchy: <first 25 characters of the manufacturing calendar's name>:<Gregorian (if selected)>:<first 25 characters of the fiscal calendar's name (if selected)>:Hybrid
  • Gregorian Hybrid Hierarchy: Gregorian:<first 25 characters of the manufacturing calendar's name (if selected)>:<first 25 characters of the fiscal calendar's name (if selected)>:Hybrid
  • Fiscal Hybrid Hierarchy: <first 25 characters of the fiscal calendar's name>:<Gregorian (if selected)>:<first 25 characters of the manufacturing calendar's name (if selected)>:Hybrid
