Relationships for New Products for Feature-Based Forecasting

Before a feature-based forecast can be generated for a new product, you must link it to customers and organizations through the Manage Product Launch page.

You can generate customer-organization combinations for the new product on the basis of those for a source product.

Before using the Manage Product Launch page, you first must set up the new product in Oracle Fusion Cloud Product Lifecycle Management and run the collection process. Alternatively, you can add the product by using the file-based data import (FBDI) template for Supply Chain Planning items.

On the Source Relation tab on the Manage Product Launch page, select members of the Customer and Organization dimensions for the existing product. The customers and organizations displayed are those to which the existing product has been sold.

When you click Insert, the check box under Include Selected is selected for combinations that contain the selected members. For the combinations that you don't want to generate for the new product, deselect the check box. You can ignore the displayed process end date (launch date for the new product) because it doesn't affect feature-based forecasting. Instead, the launch date is determined by the value in the Product Launch Date measure that's in the Product Launch Date feature group for a forecasting profile that uses feature-based machine learning.

You don't have to make any selection on the Measures tab on the Manage Product Launch page.
