Create a Sourcing Rule

Learn how to create a sourcing rule.

  1. Collect the reference data that you need to create your sourcing rule, such as organizations, items, and so on. Make sure the collected data is up to date on the server.
  2. From a Supply Chain Planning work area, on the Tasks panel tab, click Manage Sourcing Rules.
  3. On the Manage Sourcing Rules page, click Actions > Create.
  4. On the Create Sourcing Rule page, enter a name and description.
  5. Set the Organization Assignment Type to Global or Local.
If you set it to Local, then you must set a value in the Organization field. Select the one organization that you’ll apply this sourcing rule to.
  6. In the Sourcing Rule Effective Dates section, click Actions > Add Row, then set the dates when you want the sourcing rule to be in effect.
  7. In the Sources section, click Actions > Add Row, then set the values.
