Change the Default Period for Including Sales Orders in the Sales Orders Measure

To change the default period from 90 days before the plan start date for including sales orders in the Sales Orders measure for a demand plan, you must create a profile option with the MSC_SALES_ORDERS_SNAPSHOT profile option code.

You can then enter a whole number for the profile value for the days before the plan start date for which past due or open sales orders must be included in the Sales Orders measure. For example, if you create the profile option and enter a value of 30, then the measure includes past due or open sales orders with a scheduled ship date that's later than or equal to 30 days before the plan start date.

Follow these steps to create and configure the profile option:

Here's what to do

  1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, go to the Manage Profile Options task.
  2. Under Search Results: Profile Options, click Actions > New.
  3. On the Create Profile Option page, do these steps:
    1. In Profile Option Code, enter MSC_SALES_ORDERS_SNAPSHOT.
    2. In Profile Display Name, enter MSC_SALES_ORDERS_SNAPSHOT.
    3. In Application, select Planning Common.
    4. In Module, select Planning Common.
    5. In Start Date, select the current date using the date editor.
    6. Click Save and Close.
  4. On the Manage Profile Options page, search for and select the MSC_SALES_ORDERS_SNAPSHOT profile option code.
  5. Under MSC_SALES_ORDERS_SNAPSHOT: Profile Options Levels, for the Site level, select the Enabled and Updatable check boxes.
  6. Click Save and Close.
  7. In the Demand Management work area, on the Tasks panel tab, under Configuration, select Manage Planning Profile Options.
  8. On the Manage Planning Profile Options page, search for and select the MSC_SALES_ORDERS_SNAPSHOT profile option code.
  9. Under MSC_SALES_ORDERS_SNAPSHOT: Profile Values, click Actions > New.
  10. In the new row, do the following:
    1. Under Profile Level, select Site to make the profile option available to all users of the work area.
    2. Under Profile Value, enter a whole number.
  11. Click Save and Close.
