Manage Minimum and Maximum Inventory Thresholds

The minimum and maximum inventory thresholds are required to determine the replenishment status. The minimum and maximum quantity source defined on the vendor-managed inventory (VMI) relationship determines whether the enterprise or supplier manages these thresholds.

For items whose min-max quantity source is supplier, the supplier manages the minimum and maximum quantities on the Manage Inventory page. The supplier can manage these quantities for individual items within the search results or can be uploaded using a spreadsheet.

For items whose minimum and maximum quantity is enterprise, the enterprise sets the minimum and maximum quantities on the item or item subinventory records in Oracle Fusion applications.

Note: The supplier can quickly find items with missing minimum and maximum quantities using the search criteria for requiring replenishment.

Set up Minimum and Maximum Quantities

On the Manage Inventory page, you can search for an item by entering the search parameters and set the minimum and maximum quantities for the item.

To set the minimum and maximum quantities for an item:

  1. In the Supplier Portal work area, click Manage Inventory in the Tasks panel.

  2. On the Manage Inventory page, search for an item.

  3. Select the item row for which you want to update the values.

  4. Enter numeric values for Minimum Quantity or Maximum Quantity.

  5. Click Save to save your changes.

Upload Minimum and Maximum Quantities

On the Manage Inventory page, as a supplier you can upload minimum and maximum quantities using spreadsheets.

To upload minimum and maximum quantities:

  1. In the Supplier Portal work area, click Manage Inventory in the Tasks panel.

  2. On the Manage Inventory page, click Actions > Upload Min-Max Quantities.

  3. On the Upload Min-Max Quantities page, click Actions > Download Template.

  4. On Download Template dialog box, select Seed Data and click OK. A .csv file is downloaded with the selected predefined data.

    Note: You can choose to download a blank template or pre-populate your template. You can include all records or filter the predefined data by Organization, Subinventory, Item, or Item Category
  5. Open the .csv file in a spreadsheet editor.

  6. Update the values in the Minimum Quantity and Maximum Quantity columns.

  7. Save and close the .csv file.

  8. On the Upload Min-Max Quantities page, click Actions > Upload.

  9. On the File Upload dialog box, click Choose File to search for the .csv file that you updated.

  10. Click Submit.

You can view the status of the uploaded file and review the error messages, if any, on the Upload Min-Max Quantities page. The uploaded file will be available for 30 days.
