Configure Quality Object Types

Here's how you set up quality object types. These are created as subtypes of an existing quality type.

1. Navigate to the Setup and Maintenance work area.

2. From the Product Management offering, click the Quality Issue and Action Management functional area.

3. The Manage Quality Issue Types and Manage Quality Action Types tasks appear. Select and click one of them. For example, select Manage Quality Issue Types.

4. In the Create Quality Issue Type dialog, click the Actions Menu. Use the New, Edit, and Delete icons to create more object types and make changes.

5. Select the New button to create a subtype of the existing quality issue type.

6. Enter field values in the Create Quality Type dialog box.

   • Name: the title that the administrator can see

   • Label: the title that the users can see

   • Source: the default source of where the issue came from

   • Object Creation Allowed: set to Yes or No to define if users can see this type in the Create menu

   • Code: an internal unique identifier for the object

   • Description: describes the purpose of this type to the administrator.

7. Click Save and Close.

You've successfully configured a quality issue type.

Remember to check if issue and action types are in use before you delete them. On selecting a quality issue or action type that's in use, an error message informs you that you can't delete it because it's already in use. Also, the Delete icon is automatically disabled on selecting a row of the type that you can't delete.
