Overview of Ad Hoc and Inline Inspections

Based on the inspection plan type, you can perform an ad hoc inspection or inline inspection or both.

The following table lists the plan types and the inspections they support:

Plan Type	Supported Inspections
Inventory	Ad hoc inspections
Resource	Ad hoc inspections
Receiving	Inline inspections
Work in Process	Both ad hoc inspections and inline inspections
Asset	Ad hoc inspections

Note: When you have many result values to enter, you can use the REST API services. This helps you get better performance and do faster inspections.
