Run Segmentation

You can run segmentation for a segment group from the Manage Segment Groups and Criteria page.

Follow these steps to run segmentation for the segment group:

  1. On the Tasks panel tab, under Plan Inputs, select Manage Segment Groups and Criteria.

    The Manage Segment Groups and Criteria page opens.

  2. Search for the segment group for which you want to run segmentation.

  3. Select the segment group, and click Actions > Execute Segmentation.

    The Execute Segmentation dialog box opens.

  4. To retain your segment overrides, select Retain segment overrides.

    To save your last segmentation result for display on the Segmentation Summary page, select Save the last segmentation result. When you select this check box, the results of the last segmentation run are displayed under the Previous heading on the Segmentation Summary page, and the results of the segmentation run you are presently submitting are displayed under the Latest heading.

    Tip: If you're performing simulations, you may want to repeatedly make changes to your segmentation criteria and run segmentation so that you can compare the results of your changes with the results of the last segmentation run, which are displayed under the Latest heading on the Segmentation Summary page. In such cases, you don't want to select this check box. When you have finished your simulations and are satisfied with the results of your changes, then select this check box.
  5. Click Submit.

    The Information dialog box opens and provides you with the request number (process ID) of the segmentation run. You can use this request number to search for the process status and log on the Scheduled Processes page. If the segmentation run fails, see the log for more information and troubleshooting.

  6. Click OK.

    The Information dialog box closes.

  7. On the Manage Segment Groups and Criteria page, click View > Refresh to update the status and last run date of segmentation for the segment group.
