Support for Create Supply and Create Supply After Attributes in Oracle Replenishment Planning

Your settings for the Create Supply and Create Supply After attributes for an item affect how replenishments are created for the item.

If the sourcing rule for an item is buy from, the replenishment is created only when you've selected Yes in the Create Supply field for the item in the Product Information Management work area. If you've specified a date in the Create Supply After field, the replenishment is created only after that date. These values can also be supplied through the equivalent columns in the file-based data import (FBDI) template named Supply Chain Planning Items (ScpItemImportTemplate.xlsm). The values for the fields or columns take effect only after being collected.

This functionality is useful in situations such as these:

  • You want to temporarily recall the item.
  • You want to place a quality hold on the item until a date.
  • The item has been superseded by another item.

If no sourcing rule is specified for the item, it's treated as a buy item, and a replenishment is created according to the values for the Create Supply and Create Supply After attributes.

You can change the values for these attributes in a simulation set.

Note: If the sourcing rule for the item is transfer from, the replenishment is created irrespective of your settings for these attributes.
