Available Indexes

The following indexes are available by default:

  • Item
  • Manufacturer
  • Proposals
  • Structure
  • Workflow
  • Workflow Approvals
  • Workflow History

Item Index

  • Item attributes include main, operational, and extensible attributes such as extensible flexfields and global descriptive flexfields.
  • Additional support for item child object including item category assignments, item relationships, trading partner items, and AMLs.
  • Supports data-level security for items, trading partner items, and item category assignments.
  • Support autocomplete search, provides a list of suggested words based on the text that’s typed in the search box, for item number and item description attributes.
  • All translated data for all installed languages are ingested in the index automatically.
  • All item and inventory organizations are ingested in the index automatically.
  • The data security of the item will be honored.

Manufacturer Index

  • Manufacturer attributes available for index include header, extensible flex fields and location fields.
  • Manufacturer Part Number and attachments are indexed as data presence indicators.
  • Support autocomplete search, which provides a list of suggested words based on the text that’s typed in the search box. This is automatically provided for manufacturer and manufacturer description attributes.

Proposal Index

  • Proposal attributes available for index include header and application composer attributes.
  • Attachments and relationships are indexed as data presence indicators.
  • Support autocomplete search, which provides a list of suggested words based on the text that’s typed in the search box. This is automatically provided for proposal name and proposal description attributes.

Structure Index

  • Structure attributes that can be added to the index include item attributes and component attributes. Item attributes include operational and extensible flexfield attributes. Component attributes include descriptive flexfield, reference designator and substitute component attributes.
  • Extensible flexfields aren't revision specific.
  • The index is run behind the scenes for new changes that are added after the index was last rebuilt.
  • You must rebuild the index and re-create the views to include any added attributes.
  • To enable navigation to the subassembly, you must add Item Structure in the Rev Level Indicator attribute group.

Workflow Index

  • An index can be created on the data presence indicators available for Tasks, Attachments, and Relationships.
  • The index is run behind the scenes for new changes that are added after the index was last rebuilt.
  • Blank values are displayed for secured extensible flexfields because ingesting secured extensible flexfield attributes into elastic search isn't viable.

Workaround: Users must add FUSION_APPS_SCM_ADF_APPID (if it doesn't exist) to the change type extensible flexfield security tab whenever they add a user to it.

  • Change Name, Change Number, and Workflow Type are the default indexed attributes. You can't remove them from the index.

Workflow Approvals Index

  • Workflow Approvals attributes available for indexing include header attributes, descriptive flexfields, extensible flexfields, and approval attributes.
  • Name, Number, Workflow Type, Participants, and Approver Action are the default indexed attributes. You can't remove them from the index.
  • You can add or remove attributes and then rebuild the index to include additional attributes, such as header, descriptive flexfields, extensible flexfields and approval attributes. After the rebuilding is complete, you can add the attributes to a search view.

Workflow History Index

  • Workflow History search can be done across change types to find all affected object redlines and change header, workflow status, and entity updates.
  • You must run the index the first time, and each time you add a new attribute, to use the newly added attribute in your search.
  • The index is run behind the scenes for new changes that are added after the index was last rebuilt.
Note: You need to re-build the index after a quarterly update.
  • Name, Number, and Workflow Type are the default indexed attributes. You can't remove them from the index.
