How You Change Your Use of the Functionality for Aggregating Data for Non-Key Customers

This topic provides the high-level steps for changing your selections for use of the functionality for aggregating data for non-key customers.

You can change your use of the functionality for aggregating data for non-key customers by editing the following:

  • The file-based data import (FBDI) template named Supply Chain Planning Key Customer Options (ScpKeyCustomerOptionsImportTemplate.xlsm)
Note: Whenever you make a change to the import template, ensure that the data in the imported files is the present and complete information for your key customers. Don't use the import template to import only your changes.
  • Your selection of the Aggregate non-key customer data to an All Other level member checkbox on the Demand tab on the Plan Options page for your plans

Change the Aggregation Level

You can change the aggregation level on the KeyCusOptnHeader_ worksheet of the import template as explained in this table:

From Aggregation Level To Aggregation Level Checkbox Selected in Existing Plans? Checkbox to Be Selected in New Plans? Required Actions
2 3 Yes No
  1. Change the import template (ScpKeyCustomerOptionsImportTemplate.xlsm), and prepare the compressed (.zip extension) file.
  2. Perform a targeted collection.

You must collect or load data at the Customer Site level of the Customer dimension.

If you're using the Collect Planning Data page, follow these steps:

    1. On the File Import and Export page, import the .zip file to the scm/planningDataLoader/Import account.
    2. Run the Load Planning Data from Flat Files scheduled process in the targeted mode to process the imported .zip file.
    3. Perform a targeted collection using the Collect Planning Data page.

If you're using the Load Planning Data from Flat Files scheduled process, follow these steps:

    1. Use the import templates for importing all the data for the predefined and user-defined measures that include the Customer dimension.

Generate the .csv files, and add them to the .zip file that you prepared earlier.

    2. On the File Import and Export page, import the .zip file to the scm/planningDataLoader/Import account.
    3. Perform a targeted collection using the scheduled process.
  3. Create plans for which the checkbox isn't selected.
  4. Run your new plans with the Refresh with current data option selected on the Parameters tab in the Run Plan dialog box.

Change Your Selection of the Checkbox

On the Demand tab on the Plan Options page for your plan, you should select the Aggregate non-key customer data to an All Other level member checkbox only while creating your plan and before running it for the first time. After you run your plan, you shouldn't select or deselect the checkbox. Otherwise, you might run into data-integrity issues.

If you need to change your selection of the checkbox, you should create plans with the required selection and then run and use the new plans.

To understand how you use the checkbox with the import template, see How You Use the Import Template Named Supply Chain Planning Key Customer Options.
