Work with Page Layouts in Demand Management
In the Demand Management work area, you can create and edit page layouts.
Create a Page Layout
To create a page layout, follow these steps:
- In the Demand Management work area, open a demand plan.
- In the header, select
The Create Page Layout dialog box opens.
. - Specify the following details:
- Enter the page layout name and description.
- Select Public to make the page layout accessible to all users, or select Private to restrict the page layout to yourself.
- In the Enable in Work Area field, select the check boxes for work areas other than Demand Management if you want the page layout to be accessible in them.
- Click Save and Close.
The page layout is created with an empty pane.
- Click the Change drop-down button to select a pane layout (for example, Two Pane, Horizontal Split) for your page layout.
- To add content to a pane, click the Open drop-down button,
and select the pane.
The Open Table, Graph, or Tile Set dialog box opens.
- Select a table, graph, or tile set from the displayed list, and click OK.
- Add content to the other panes of the page layout.
- Click the Save Layout drop-down button.
Edit a Page Layout
You can edit a page layout that you own and save your changes using the Save Layout drop-down button in the header.
You can't save your changes to a predefined page layout or a page layout that belongs to another user. If you must modify a predefined page layout or a page layout that belongs to another user, you can save it as a new page layout that belongs to you.
To save your changes to a new page layout, click
. The Save Layout As dialog box opens, and you can specify the name, description, access, and work areas for the new page layout.In the Manage Page Layouts dialog box that's opened from the Page Layout field in the header, you can do the following:
- Change the name, description, work areas, and access for a page layout that you own.
- Change the work areas for a page layout that’s owned by another user.
- Make a user-defined or predefined page layout the default one for the work area in which you're managing the page layout.
- Duplicate a user-defined or predefined page layout, and change the access and work areas for the copy.
- Delete a page layout that you own.Note: You can't delete the page layout if it's presently being used by the displayed demand plan.
- See which page layout is currently being used by the displayed demand plan.
- Add or remove tables, graphs, or tile sets in a page layout that you own.
- Move a table, graph, or tile set from one pane to another in a page layout that you
own.
To move a table, graph, or tile set, select it in the dialog box, click the Move drop-down button, and select the pane to which the object must be moved.
Predefined Page Layouts for Demand Management
The Demand Management work area has these predefined page layouts.
- Demand Plan Summary: This page layout provides infotiles for shipments history change comparisons, the shipments forecast mean absolute percentage error (MAPE), new product forecasts, forecast comparisons, and shipments and projections versus the budget. By clicking the bar at the bottom of each infotile, you can view the associated graphs and tables. Use this page layout to measure the performance of your demand plan.
- Product Lifecycle Management: This page layout displays the predefined Manage Product Life Cycle by Item and Date table that you can use to modify the launch and discontinuation dates for products. The page layout also displays the predefined Manage Forecast During Product Life Cycle table that you can use to modify the shipments or bookings forecasts for products. Use this page layout to manage product introductions and retirements.
