Set Up Recall Parameters

You must define recall parameters to manage the recall notices.

This table lists the parameters and their details:

Parameter

Details

Item Master Organization

Specify item master organization under the Global tab and save the record. The application automatically derives the item number defined in this item master organization based on the part details captured in the recall notice. It also derives the purchasing category for the item based on this item master organization.

Bypass Count and Disposal Tasks

Enable the Bypass Count and Disposal Tasks attribute under the Global tab if you want to mark the recall containment tasks as completed by directly entering a reason code, without having to do the recall counts and disposition transactions.
Note: If you aren’t using Oracle Fusion Cloud Inventory Management, then it is mandatory to enable this attribute to use Recall Management.

Task Grouping

Configure a default task group for all your inventory organizations under Task Groups tab. You can also define exceptions for specific inventory organizations with different task groups that will override the default task group for a given organization. You can set the task group with any of the following values:
  • Inventory Organization
  • Location
  • Sub inventory

This task group configuration determines the level at which the recall tasks must be created irrespective of whether the tasks are generated by the Locate Recalled Parts job or the tasks are manually created.

For example, if you configure the task group as inventory organization, then:

  • recalled parts traced in different subinventories or locations of an inventory organization are grouped together

  • a common containment task gets assigned for each inventory organization where the affected goods could potentially reside

  • a notification for the containment task is sent to the user responsible for each inventory organization

Similarly, if you configure the task group as subinventory, then

  • recalled parts traced in different stock locators of that subinventory are grouped together

  • a common containment task is assigned for each subinventory where the affected goods could potentially reside

  • a notification for the containment task is sent to the user responsible for each subinventory

Recall Sub-inventory

Define this parameter for an inventory organization under recall Subinventories tab.

Note:

While defining this parameter, the project inventory-enabled organizations aren't listed.

You must define a recall subinventory for an inventory organization, as once the recalled parts are located and counted, they're moved to the recall subinventory for quarantine.

If the subinventory is locator controlled, then you must also specify the default recall stock locator.

The recall subinventory must be a non-reservable and quantity tracked subinventory.

This set up is required only if the Bypass Count and Disposal Tasks attribute under the Global tab of Recall Parameters isn’t enabled.

To set up a recall parameter:

  1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, go to the following:

    • Offering: Product Management

    • Functional Area: Product Recall Management

    • Task: Manage Recall parameters

  2. Specify the recall parameters.
