Analyze Index

You can perform the following tasks to analyze an index:
  • Check Missing Items: Generate report to analyze missing items in the index or analyze and fix missing items.
  • Check Duplicate Items: Generate report to analyze duplicate items in the index or analyze and fix duplicate items.

Check Missing Items in an Index Object

To check missing items in an index:
  1. In the Product Information Management or Product Development work area, go to the Task panel tab and click Configure Index from Product Management Experience.

    The Index Management page is displayed. Each object that supports an index is displayed as a card on this page.

  2. Click the card associated with the object for which you want to check the missing items.
  3. From Actions, click Check Missing Items.

    The Check Missing Items drawer is displayed.

  4. Provide the following information:
    • Item Class
    • Include child item classes
    • Organization Name
    • Action:
      • Analyze: Analyze missing items in the index.
      • Analyze and Fix: Analyze and fix the missing items in the index.
  5. Click Submit.

    The process submitted message is displayed.

    After the scheduled process is completed successfully, open the text file to view the missing items. If you've selected the Analyze and Fix option, you can still view the missing items that were fixed.

Check Duplicate Items in an Index Object

To check for duplicate items in an index object:
  1. In the Product Information Management or Product Development work area, go to the Task panel tab and click Configure Index from Product Management Experience.

    The Index Management page is displayed. Each object that supports an index is displayed as a card on this page.

  2. Click the card associated with the object for which you want to check the duplicate items.
  3. From Actions, click Check Duplicate Items.

    The Check Duplicate Items drawer is displayed.

  4. Provide the following information:
    • Item Class
    • Include child item classes
    • Organization Name
    • Action:
      • Analyze: Analyze duplicate items in the index.
      • Analyze and Fix: Analyze and fix duplicate items in the index.
  5. Click Submit.

    The process submitted message is displayed.

    After the scheduled process is completed successfully, open the text file to view the duplicate items. If you've selected the Analyze and Fix option, you can still view the duplicate items that were fixed.
