How You Manage Production Line

Production lines are commonly used in lean or flow manufacturing environments. They are used to produce a group of products that have similar manufacturing processes and belong to a product family. You can manage production lines to run flow manufacturing, which streamlines rate-based production based on the line capacity and availability using the Redwood user experience.

You can use production lines to run flow manufacturing for standard and configured products. You can design a production line for optimized production flow and minimized waste prior to creating a production line and work definition for flow manufacturing. You can specify the production line rate as the units of the product produced per hour that the line can produce. The line rate isn't calculated currently.

Manufacturers can perform the following production line tasks:

  • Create a production line including the rate of units produced in a flow manufacturing plant.
  • Search for and filter production lines using keywords.
  • View production line information in flow manufacturing.
  • Edit or delete production line details.
  • Inactivate a production line by specifying an inactive on date.
