Setup Publication Options for a Spoke System

Setting up the publication options for a spoke system will be used to identify entities for the publication.

You can setup the publication options for a spoke system that could be used for publishing items through a publication batch.

To setup publication option for a spoke system:

  1. On the Manage Spoke Systems page, click Action and select Edit Publication Options for the required spoke system.

    The <Spoke System Name> Publication Options page is displayed.

  2. Click any of the following tabs and specify the publication criteria:

Publication Options for Items

On the Item tab, specify the following information.
Region Option/Field Name Description
Item Revisions

Select one of the following to indicate the item revision:

  • Current revision
  • Current and future revision
Days in Future Enter a value to indicate a future revision day.
Item Entities Include unapproved items Includes unapproved items in the publication.
Include system attributes Includes system attributes in the publication.
Include deleted items Includes delete items in the publication.
Entities Select the item and item child entities that'll be published.
Attachment Categories Indicates attachment categories that'll be published. If the Include digital assets was marked as No for the source attribute, then Attachment Categories is ready only. So if Include digital assets is marked as Yes, then you can select the attachment categories that can be published.
Include digital asset files Includes digital data in the publication.
Selection Criteria
  1. Select All or Any.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Specify the Business Entity, Operator, Entity Name, Include Child Item Classes.
  4. Click the tick icon to add the business entity.
Item Validation Rules Validation Rule Set Select the validation rule set for the item.

Publication Options for Item Class

On the Item Class tab, select the check boxes for the item classes you want to publish.

Publication Options for Catalog

On the Catalog tab:
  1. To include item category assignments, select Yes or No.
  2. To add catalogs, click Add, select the catalog, and click the tick icon. Repeat this step to add additional catalogs.
  3. To delete any catalog, highlight the catalog and click Delete.

Publication Options for Trading Partner Item

On the Trading Partner Item tab, you can specify the following information.

Option/Field Name Description
Publish attachments Publish attachments for trading partner items.
Include digital asset files If you’ve selected the Publish attachments option, then you can select Include digital asset files option to include any digital files as attachments.
Include system attributes Include system attributes for trading partner items.
Attachment Categories Indicates attachment categories that'll be published. If the Include digital assets was marked as No for the source attribute, then Attachment Categories is ready only. So if Include digital assets is marked as Yes, then you can select the attachment categories that can be published.
Trading Partner Type Click the drop-down list and select the checkbox for the following to specify the type of trading partner item you want to publish:
  • Customer
  • Supplier
  • Manufacturer
  • Competitor

You can select more than one checkbox.
