Sometimes new items aren’t visible after creating multiple items or importing items. Items are generated in a sequence but a few of the items aren’t visible because the sequence numbers were skipped. It's difficult to determine the cause of the failure. It might be because the process wasn’t completed due to server issue, it isn’t closed due to database issue, or might be the item is still under approval (that's, it's in draft state). This results in the sequence numbers not being used and you can’t reclaim those skipped numbers.
For example, when a new item is created, the new item uses the next sequence number. Let’s assume the first item isn’t approved and the new item request was canceled or rejected, but the subsequent item was approved. Hence, one item number is skipped. It isn’t possible to identify the causes.
