To create a production line for flow manufacturing:

  1. Navigate to the Work Definition Overview work area.
  2. From the Actions menu, select Production Lines.

    The Production Lines page opens.

  3. Click Create Production Line.

The New Production Line page opens.

  4. Supply a production line Name and Code.

The production line name and code must be unique within the organization.

You can also add an optional Description for the production line.

  5. Supply the rate of units expected to produce per hour in flow manufacturing.
  6. Click Create to create your production line.

You are taken to the production lines page where you can see the newly added production line at the topmost entry in the flow manufacturing.

You can't define production line operations, equipment resources and their instances, or workstations. Instead create a flow manufacturing work definition that’s associated with a production line, add the sequence of operations, and associate its equipment resources. Workstation association to a flow manufacturing line isn’t supported currently.

Note: You can't use production lines for discrete manufacturing or process manufacturing work orders, or orderless transactions currently.
