Define a Change Order
Here’s the sequence of steps to define a change order.
-
Create the change order, giving it an appropriate name and purpose or description.
-
Assign items and documents that are affected by the change order. -
Manufacturer parts can't be added to a change order; you must add a manufacturer part's associated or parent item.

-

-
Edit the item or document and modify their definitions: -
Update the item or document attributes; or,
-
Modify the structure, in these ways: -
                        by adding new structure components;
-
by withdrawing existing structure components; or,
-
                        by modifying structure attributes.

-

-

-
Check the impact of the change by analyzing the impacted products.
-
Adapt the change to impact the intended products only.
-
Define the list of approvers for the change - individual users or user group. If the user group is expanded into a comma separated list, the number of characters in the list should not exceed 2000.
-
Submit the change order for approval.
-
Approvers review and then approve or reject the change.
-
If rejected, rework the change and resubmit for approval.
