Overview of External Message Definitions
An external message definition is the representation of a document type in a specific format.
You can identify the format by the message type, messaging standard, the version of the messaging standard, and the document subtype. Here's an example:

Collaboration Message |

OAGIS |

B2B Messaging provides a number of predefined external message definitions. You can also add your own external message definitions for sending or receiving messages depending on what your trading partner wants to use to send or receive. After you have created an external message definition to represent a document type, you'll also need to create a collaboration message definition to map the format of the messages you send to or receive from trading partners.
