Create a Trade Operation from a Template
Trade operation templates define key details such as the supplier, charge lines, reference types, and routes, which help to ensure uniformity across trade operations and minimize the risk of errors and variations in landed cost calculations. Templates are particularly useful for organizations with high shipment volumes or standardized procurement patterns, enabling scalable and efficient landed cost processing.
When you create a trade operation from a template, all the predefined information is automatically copied into the trade operation. You can still review and adjust the copied details as needed.
-
In the Receipt Accounting work area, select Trade Operations from the Quick actions menu.
If required, click View all actions to see the complete list of actions available.
-
From the More Actions menu on the Trade Operations page, select Create Trade Operation from Template.
- Specify the name and description of the trade operation in the Create Trade Operation from Template panel drawer.
- From the Trade Operation Templates list, select the template
based on which you want to create the trade operation.
Upon selecting a template, the fields predefined in the template, such as BU and document currency, are automatically populated. The Templates section displays the general information about the template. The Charges section displays the charges predefined in the template.
- From the Transaction Type list, select PO receipt or Transfer order.
- If you selected PO receipt as the transaction type, then in the Allocation Quantity Type field, specify whether the allocation is based on purchase order schedule quantity or shipment quantity.
- Click Create.
For the newly created trade operation, you can add the relevant details on the various tabs displayed for the trade operation.
