Create Manufacturer

You can create a manufacturer from the Product Management Search page for Manufacturers.

Additionally, you can use generative AI to generate and fill in the following profile details for manufacturers:

  • Description
  • Global Revenue
  • Headcount Details
  • Website
  • Classification
  • Industry
  • Channels
  • Brands
  • Products

To use generative AI, you must opt in to the feature: Use Generative AI to Populate Manufacturer Profile Attributes.

Here’s how you create the manufacturer:

  1. On the Tasks panel tab, click Search Product Management.

  2. Select Manufacturer from the Product Management Search drop-down list.

    The New Manufacturer drawer appears.

  3. Enter the manufacturer details and click Create.

    Separate tabs are available for Company Profile Attributes, Location, and Additional Attributes.
    Note:
    • The Additional Attributes tab displays only required extensible flexfields and is hidden if none are required.
    • Use business rules to hide one or more of the following tabs: Company Profile Attributes, Location, and Additional Attributes.
    If you’re using generative AI, enter the manufacturer name and click AI Assist to fill in the profile details. Here are some points on generative AI:
    • The manufacturer name is required to generate the profile details using AI Assist.
    • You can use the AI Assist feature multiple times if required for the same manufacturer name, to get the best desirable response from AI.
    • The Company Profile Attributes and the Country Attribute within Location can be auto-populated using AI Assist feature.
      • When you manually enter values in the company profile attributes while editing a manufacturer and then click AI Assist, your existing values will be replaced with AI-generated values. But you can still revert to the previous values by clicking Cancel.
  4. Save your changes.
Note:

  • After creating the manufacturer, you can select an attachment and view it directly in a viewer without downloading it.

  • You can add attachments details and preview them in the side panel. If there are multiple attachments, use the arrows to view each of them.
  • The Favorites and Recent Items links to manufacturers will launch the manufacturer page in the Product Development work area.
  • You can create an image category for manufacturer objects to categorize image files added to them.
