Use Work Order Groups for Mass Actions
You can create work order groups and add related work orders to a group. You can then perform mass actions for a group of work orders.
Group work orders for specific purposes, such as for reservations or picking materials. You can search for a work order group and perform mass actions on the group, such as changing the status of the work orders in the group.
In the Work Execution work area, use the Work Order Groups action or task to create and manage work order groups. You can create work order groups and add individual work orders to a group.
You can also select work orders in the Work Orders page and assign them to a group. When creating or editing a work order, you can choose to update its group assignment.
The Group filter in the Work Orders page lets you search for work orders by group membership.
Manage Work Order Groups
You can create, update, and delete work order groups from the Work Order Groups page. You can also add or remove work orders to a group from the Work Orders page.
To create, update, and delete work order groups:
- In the Work Execution work area, select the Work Order Groups action or task under Manufacturing Setup.
- To create a new group, select Add and provide details such as group name, description, and code. You can optionally select an inactive date for the group and provide additional context information using descriptive flexfields.
- To change group membership, select the group name link. Search and add work orders to the group. You can also select and remove work orders from the group.
- To update group details for a group, click Edit and update details, such as the description or inactive data.
- To delete one or more groups, select and delete the groups from the Work Order Groups page.
Search Work Orders and Perform Mass Actions
You can select and add work orders to a group from the Work Orders page. You can also search and filter work orders using the work order group name.
- In the Work Execution work area, select the Work Orders (New) action or task under Manage Production.
- To assign work orders to a group, search and select the work orders. Select More Actions and select Assign to Group.
- To search work orders by group, select Filters and specify a Group filter.
- To perform mass actions on related work orders, filter by the group name. Select the work orders and select any of the available actions under More Actions. For example, you can choose to Reserve Materials Automatically for the selected work orders.
- To remove one or more work orders from a group, you can select the work orders to be removed. Select More Actions and select Remove from Group.
