How do I integrate Workforce Scheduling with Inventory for task assignment?

Integrate Oracle Workforce Scheduling with Oracle Advanced Inventory task assignment to ensure that tasks are assigned only to workers who are scheduled and available during a specific shift.

These mappings ensure that workers who are scheduled for a department, assigned to the appropriate job or scheduling group, and have the required competencies, are eligible for task assignment. If no mapping is defined, all the workers scheduled for a department and shift, appears in the worker list.

Map inventory zones to workforce scheduling departments

  1. In the Inventory Management work area, click , and then select Inventory Zones task.
  2. To map inventory zones to workforce scheduling departments:
    1. Select the zone. On the zones' page, click .
    2. Select the Use workforce scheduling checkbox for the zone, and then choose the Department associated with the zone.
  3. Click Save.

The selected department determines which workforce schedules and workers are considered when assigning tasks in that zone.

Map activity types to jobs, scheduling groups, and competencies

  1. In the Inventory Management work area, click , and then select Inventory Zones task.
  2. To map activity types to jobs, scheduling groups, and competencies:
    1. In the Activity Type section, click next to the activity type, and then add the jobs that qualify for that activity type.
    2. To map a scheduling group to an activity type, click next to the activity type, and then add the scheduling group that qualifies for that activity type.
    3. Click Save.
  3. Click Save.

Assign workers to Inventory tasks

After completing the setup and generating the workforce schedules:

  1. In the Inventory Management work area, click and select the Inventory Task Assignments page.
  2. Select the task you want assign and click .
  3. On the Assign Worker drawer, select the date and shift.
Based on the zone and activity type of the task, the system displays available workers who:
  • Are scheduled for the mapped department
  • Belongs to the required job or scheduling group
  • Have the required competencies

You can also review the number of tasks already assigned to each worker during the shift before assigning the task.
