Create a Work Center

To create a work center:

  1. On the Manage Work Centers page, click the Add icon.

  2. On the Create Work Center page, add these work center details:

    • A unique name

    • A unique code

    • A description

  3. Select an active work area and supply subinventory to which the work center is associated.

  4. (Optional) If you want manual control of Work in Process (WIP) quantities, then select Transfer work-in-process manually.

    This overrides the automatic flow of completed quantities to the subsequent operation. The operator must explicitly perform the Move Work in Process action to move quantities from the "To-Move" pool of the current operation to the "Ready" pool of the next operation. Manual control of Work in Process (WIP) quantities can help in scenarios such as resource bottlenecks, inspection holds, or strategic production sequencing requirements.

  5. Click Save and Close.
