How do I update LPN weight and volume?

You can update, calculate, or manually override the weight and volume for one or more License Plate Numbers (LPNs). Accurate LPN weight and volume values help document packed, repacked, moved, and shipped goods correctly.

When to use this task

  • You pack or repack an LPN and need the application to calculate weight and volume.
  • You assign a container item to an existing LPN and need accurate system-calculated values.
  • You need to manually adjust weight or volume to include extra packaging material or other required adjustments.

Before you start

  • Confirm that the LPN has contents or an assigned container item that the application can use to calculate weight and volume.
  • Decide whether to keep system-calculated values or enter manual values for packaging or other adjustments.
  • This feature is no longer optional from update 27A for the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Materials Management offering.

How to update LPN weight and volume?

  1. On the Item Quantities page, select the LPN tab.
  2. Search for and select one or more LPNs.
  3. Select More Actions, and then select Update Weight and Volume.
  4. Review the system-calculated weight and volume for the selected LPNs.
The calculation is based on LPN contents and, when available, the assigned container item.
  5. Enter manual weight or volume values only when the system-calculated values must include extra packaging material or other adjustments.
  6. Click Save.
  7. For mobile transactions, open the LPN Repack or Stocking Inquiry page, scan or select the LPN, select More Actions, and then select Update Weight and Volume.

Results:

  • When you manually update an LPN weight or volume, the application stops automatic recalculation for that LPN, even if the LPN contents change.
  • Updated LPN details provide more accurate documentation for goods packed in LPNs.
Note: Use manual values only when the system-calculated values do not reflect packaging material or other required adjustments.
