How the Replenishment Date is Calculated
When min-max replenishment creates supply requests, the application calculates the required or requested delivery date based on the transaction type.
- Movement requests
- Required Date = System Date + Preprocessing Lead Time + (Full Lead Time or Processing Lead Time)
- You can view the Required Date on the Movement Request page.
- Purchase requisitions and purchase orders
- Requested Delivery Date = System Date + Preprocessing Lead Time + (Full Lead Time or Processing Lead Time)
- You can view the Requested Delivery Date on the Supply Lines page. The requested delivery date is displayed in your preferred time zone.
- Transfer orders
- Requested Delivery Date = System Date + In-Transit Time
- The application uses the in-transit time defined between the source and destination organizations in the Manage Transit Times task.
- You can view the Requested Delivery Date on the Supply Lines page. The requested delivery date is displayed in your preferred time zone.
The application evaluates lead times using the configured workday pattern and schedule. Depending on the configuration, nonworking days may be included in or excluded from the calculation. For information about configuring working and nonworking days, see Example of Managing Workday Patterns.
Example: Excluding Weekends from the Calculation
To exclude weekends, configure the workday pattern with Length in Days = 7, define working shifts for days 1 through 5, and start the schedule on a Monday. With this configuration, days 6 and 7 are treated as nonworking days and are excluded from the calculation.
For a purchase requisition, the Requested Delivery Date is calculated as:
Requested Delivery Date = System Date + Preprocessing Lead Time + Processing Lead Time
- System Date: 08/01/24 (Thursday)
- Preprocessing Lead Time: 2 working days
- Processing Lead Time: 8 working days
Here’s the calculation:
08/01/24 + 2 working days + 8 working days = 08/15/24
The Requested Delivery Date for the purchase requisition is 08/15/24 (Thursday) because the application skips the nonworking days of 08/03/24, 08/04/24, 08/10/24, and 08/11/24.
