Edit Items

To edit an item:

1. Do any of the following:
   • On the Product Management page, search for the required item, and in the search results, click the item number link.
   • On the Search page, search for the required item and click the item number link.

   The item opens in a separate tab. All the attributes are in read only mode.

2. To edit the operational and extended flexfield attributes, click the Edit icon on the Attributes tab.

3. Edit the required information and click Save at the top to save the changes.

Access to Reference Organization Items

When item access control lists and definition organization security inheritance are enabled, access to an item in a reference organization is inherited from the corresponding item in its definition organization.

The permissions granted for the definition organization item determine which actions and item tabs a user can access for the reference organization item. For example, a user with permission to manage Basic Attributes and Attachments in the definition organization has the same permissions for the corresponding reference organization item. The user can't access Structures, Where Used, Categories, Relationships, or other item tabs unless the required permission is also granted for the definition organization item.
