Specifications
Review the following before setting up this scheduled process:
| Specification | Description |
|---|---|
| Job Type |
While you can run the scheduled process on an adhoc basis, we highly recommended you schedule the process nightly after the last shift for each enabled organization, in coordination with other scheduled processes such as the maintenance forecast and work order creation. This ensures that new work orders are considered for scheduling and assignment within the work order and scheduling horizon windows in days. It's not recommended to run the process during an active shift, as existing assignments may be reassigned or even deleted. This could cause issues if technicians have started reporting on assigned work orders, or their upcoming assignments change during their shift. To run the scheduled process at a specific schedule or time, select the Advanced button and then in the Schedule tab, select Using a schedule from the Run option. Now, you can select the frequency and enter a start date for the scheduled process to run. |
| Frequency | Once daily per organization in coordination with other scheduled processes such as the maintenance forecast and work order creation. |
| Time of Day | After the last work shift of the day. |
| Duration |
Duration will depend on the horizon number of days selected into the future and the number of work orders to be considered, both existing and new. The process will run until an optimum solution is achieved, which means it could run for a few minutes to a few hours in some cases. If the process is taking longer than expected, try running it for a shorter horizon, such as a couple days into the future. While a horizon of up to 30 days is supported, most scheduling requests are only relevant for a shorter horizon of a few days or up to a week into the future |
| Compatibility | There should be only one instance of the job running at any time
for an organization, and there’s no current functional need to run
multiple instances of this process simultaneously. Additionally, you must not schedule this process to run while the work order creation process for maintenance forecasts is running, else it may not consider all the new work orders created. |
