How to Configure Job Requisition DFFs as Visible in Some Places and Not Visible in Others
When a descriptive flexfield (DFF) is configured as Required, it’s visibility can’t be changed. If you want a DFF to be required and visible in some places, and hidden in other places, you need to create rules in Transaction Design Studio.

Configure DFFs as Not Required
You configure descriptive flexfields (DFFs) as not required so you can change their visibility.
- In the Setup and Maintenance work area, click the Tasks icon.
- Click Search.
- Search for the task Job Requisition Descriptive Flexfields.
- Click the task name.
- On the Job Requisition Descriptive Flexfields page, select the task and click the Edit icon.
- Select each flexfield and under the Context Segments section, clear the Required check box.
- Click Save and Close.
- On the Job Requisition Descriptive Flexfields page, click Deploy Flexfield.
Create Rule to Configure DFFs as Required
You create a rule in Transaction Design Studio to configure description flexfields (DFFs) as Required.
- Activate a sandbox and page editing at the Site layer in .
- On your Home page, go to .
- Click the Transaction Design Studio tab.
- Select the action Recruiting - Create Job Requisition.
- Click Add to create a rule.
- In the Basic Details section, enter a name and a description for the rule.
- In the Page Attributes section, select the Details region.
- Set the Job Requisition Descriptive Flexfield to Visible.
- Click the Edit icon next to the Job Requisition Descriptive Flexfield.
- Select the Required option for each flexfield that needs to be required.
- Click Done.
- Click Save and Close.
