Configure Automated Job Application Notifications

Candidates can automatically receive notifications throughout the candidate selection process to be kept informed of their progress. Recruiters and hiring managers can view the notifications that were sent and the content of those notifications in the Interactions tab of the candidate's job application.

As an example, you could create an automated notification that would be sent to candidates when they're rejected in the candidate selection process.

Create Automated Job Application Notifications

You create notifications in the Recruiting Content library using the Automated Job Application Notification category.

1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, go to:

   • Offering: Recruiting and Candidate Experience

   • Functional Area: Recruiting and Candidate Experience Management

   • Task: Recruiting Content Library

2. On the Recruiting Content Library page, click Create.

3. In the Content Item Details section, enter the following information:

   • Name
   • Code
   • Category: Select Automated Job Application Notification.
   • Visibility: A content item can be used for internal postings, external postings, or both. For automated job application notifications, the visibility determines for which types of candidates the template is available for selection when using the Send Notification action in the candidate selection process.

4. Complete the other fields. For details, see Create a Content Item.

Configure the Candidate Selection Process with the Send Notification Action

When notifications are created, you configure the candidate selection process by adding the Send Notification action to specific phases and states of the selection process. When a job application enters or exits a phase or is moved to a specific state within a phase, a notification is automatically sent to the candidate. You can set a delay so that the notification is sent at a specified time after the job application has been moved.
