Implications of Changing an Offering Activity from Required to Optional

The impact of changing an offering activity from required to optional for a course with multiple activities depends on where the learner is in the Oracle Learning assignment life cycle.

• Learners who completed the course assignment aren't impacted.
• Active course assignments are marked as Completed as soon as learners complete all the required activities. The newly optional activity remains required for these learners until you run the Reconcile Learning Assignments process from the offering details page, Actions menu. After the process completes, the activity becomes optional for them.
• Learners with future renewal course assignments that include the activity will see the activity as optional instead of required.
