Oracle Learning Items Overview

Learners can generate videos and learning journeys for the learning catalog. Learning administrators can generate courses, offerings, and specializations. Learning community catalogs can include content generated by both groups.

  • Learner-generated learning items can include videos, external videos, text, images, and web links that they assemble and publish.
  • Learning-administrator-generated learning items can be courses or specializations.
    • A course consists of at least one offering. An offering includes at least one activity with at least one content item. Supported content item types are: AICC, SCORM, PDF, assessment, and video.
    • A specialization consists of sections that reference specific courses.

Learning items can be Oracle or nonOracle learning objects and they can reference Oracle learning objects. And they can be stored in Oracle Learning or hosted by a third party, such as LinkedIn Learning and SkillSoft.

The remaining topics in this chapter provide explanations about and examples of what courses, offerings, activities, and specializations mean in the context of Oracle Learning. They also explain how learning prerequisites and outcomes work for courses and specializations. They explain the difference between assessments and evaluations in Oracle Learning. And they explain what Oracle learning communities are.
