Complete Performance Documents

Human resource (HR) specialists and managers can change a performance document to Completed status even when all tasks aren't completed in the document.

They can complete performance documents when, for example, managers or employees refuse to acknowledge documents or leave the organization, thus halting the document processing.

This table shows how HR specialists and managers can mark a performance document as completed.

How

HR specialists

  1. Go to My Client Groups > Performance > Performance Documents.

  2. Search for and select the performance documents.

  3. From the Actions menu, select Complete.

  4. Optionally, choose a reason for completing the document.

    Note: Organizations can add their own reasons to the default list by using the ORA_HRA_MASS_UPD_TASK_REASON profile option in the Performance Lookups task in the Setup and Maintenance work area.
  5. Click Submit.

Managers

  1. Go to My Team > Performance or the Performance tab on the employee's person spotlight page.

  2. Select the appropriate review period.

  3. From the Actions menu of the performance document that you want to mark as completed, select Complete.

Note: Using HCM Data Loader, HR specialists can mark a performance document as Complete for multiple employees at the same time.

Performance Documents You Can Complete

HR specialists can search for and complete performance documents that aren't already completed or canceled. They can search for performance documents and employees they have security access to, but not their own performance documents.

Managers can complete documents they manage that aren't already completed or canceled.

Impact of Completing the Performance Document

Here's what happens when you complete a performance document:

  • The content, ratings, and comments that exist are updated in the employee profile according to the configuration specified in the performance template.

  • The document can be reopened later to continue from the point at which it was completed.

  • When notifications are enabled, employees and managers are notified about the completion of the performance document. This table shows the notifications to enable.
