Add Job Requisition Flexfields as Search Filters in Career Sites

You can add job requisition descriptive flexfields (DFF) used as filters on your external career sites so that external candidates can filter job search results using job requisition DFFs.

Here's what to do

  1. Create Job Requisition Descriptive Flexfields
  2. Make Flexfields Visible in Job Requisitions
  3. Make Flexfields Searchable on Career Sites
  • This feature requires Oracle Search.

Create Job Requisition Descriptive Flexfields

  1. Go to the Setup and Maintenance work area and click the Tasks icon.
  2. Click Search.
  3. Search for the task Job Requisition Descriptive Flexfields.
  4. Click the task name.
  5. On the Job Requisition Descriptive Flexfields page, click the Edit icon.
  6. In the Global Segments section, click the Create icon to create a job requisition descriptive flexfield segment.
    Note: Only character data type is supported for flexfields.
  7. Select a value set.
  8. Click Save and Close.
  9. On the Job Requisition Descriptive Flexfields page, click Deploy Flexfield.

Make Flexfields Visible in Job Requisitions

To make the job requisition flexfields visible, you need to edit both the Recruiting - Create Requisition and Recruiting - View and Edit Requisition actions in Transaction Design Studio. The configuration is the same for both actions.

  1. Access a sandbox which includes HCM Experience Design Studio.
    1. Click the Navigator menu.
    2. Expand the Configuration section and click Sandboxes.
    3. Create a sandbox or select one which includes HCM Experience Design Studio.
  2. On the Home page, go to My Client Groups.
  3. In the Quick Actions menu, click HCM Experience Design Studio.
  4. Click the Transaction Design Studio tab.
  5. Select the action Recruiting - Create Requisition.
  6. Click Add to create a new rule to display flexfields or edit an existing rule.
  7. In the Page Attributes section, select the Details region.
  8. Set the Job Requisition Descriptive Flexfield to Visible.
  9. Click the Edit icon to edit the flexfield. Select a flexfield content code and a flexfield attribute. Set the field as being visible. Even though all configured flexfields are shown in the menu and can be selected, only global segments with character data type can be used as filters.
    Note: The Required field isn't functional. If you change it, it won't have any effect.
  10. Click Done.
  11. Click Save and Close.
  12. Repeat the same steps for the Recruiting - View and Edit Requisition action.

Make Flexfields Searchable on Career Sites

To allow candidates to filter job search results using job requisition flexfields, you need to edit the action Recruiting - Define Career Site Search Filters.

  1. Select the action Recruiting - Define Career Site Search Filters.
  2. Click Add to create a rule or edit an existing rule.
  3. In the Basic Details section, you can select a career site in the Site Name field. If no site is selected, the rule applies to all sites.
  4. In the Page Attributes section, select the Search Filters region.
  5. Set the Job Requisition Descriptive Flexfield to Visible.
  6. You can edit individual flexfields. Click the Edit icon. Select a flexfield content code and a flexfield attribute. Set the field as being visible. Even though all configured flexfields are shown in the menu and can be selected, only global segments with character data type can be used as filters.
    Note: The Required field isn't functional. If you change it, it won't have any effect.
  7. Click Done.
  8. Click Save and Close.
