Job Offer Security Details

The aggregate privilege View Job Offer (ORA_IRC_VIEW_JOB_OFFER) is assigned by default to the Hiring Manager, Recruiter, and Recruiting Manager roles.

The Hiring Manager and Recruiter roles only have access to job offers for which they or their subordinates are part of the job offer team. To view and update job offers for which they're not part of the offer team, a duty role is required: Manage Job Offer by Recruiting Manager (ORA_IRC_MANAGE_JOB_OFFER_BY_RECRUITING_MANAGER). By default, this duty role is assigned to the Recruiting Manager role.

Tip: You can define two data roles for a single user, one data role to view and one to edit, and have the view data role based on a broader security profile. This would allow seeing many items and updating only a subset of them. This can be done for all view and update data privileges.

Based on the Person Security Profile (includes viewing and updating the entire job offer and job offer's salary and other compensation sections as well as canceling and redrafting job offers.)

To view the content of job offers while approving them, the view conditions must be assigned to users. While the Hiring Manager role can typically view at least the offers that their subordinates can access, users outside of the hierarchy may not have access to any offers that they're asked to approve. If that's the case, you can assign the Manage Job Offer by Recruiting Manager duty role or create your own duty role, to enable viewing offers for approval throughout the user's person security profile.

Here are the steps to create your own duty role:

  1. Click Navigator > Tools > Security Console.

  2. Click the Roles tab.

  3. Search for the duty role Manage Job Offer by Recruiting Manager.

  4. Click the Actions menu and select Copy Role.

  5. Select Copy top role.

  6. Click Copy Role.

  7. Remove the update data security policies.

  8. Assign this new duty role to approvers who aren't hiring managers so they can view the job offer content if they're requested to approve it.

This view capability for users outside the offer team is important if:

  • They need to review the job offer content before approving it, which is desirable.

  • They need to click the link in the approval notification to view the candidate's offer letter.

These privileges and data access are required:

  • View Job Offer, to see the recruiting and assignment content of the job offer.

  • View Job Offer Salary, for the salary related info of the offer.

  • View Job Offer Other Compensation, for any compensation plans and options of the offer.

  • View Job Requisition, for any job requisition content that might be included in the notification.

  • Internal career site access, so there is a landing page if there's a link to the job offer letter within the notification.
